Peel labels from milk cans.

Place in crockpot and cover with 1 inch of water.

Cover and cook on low overnight.

Allow to cool for a few hours before removing from crockpot.

Spoon cooled caramel into a bowl and mix in 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon of salt at a time.

Taste test and adjust accordingly.

Cover, label and store in the refrigerator for up to 2 months.
