Crock Pot Angel Chicken Notes

If you know you're going to be in a super hurry when you toss the chicken in...just make the pasta the night before. Or even the weekend before...it's super forgiving that way. Just knock off a couple of minutes from your usual "doneness" and you'll be all set.

Toss the pasta in the refrigerator and add it in the last 45 to 60 minutes for excellent, creamy deliciousness.  If you'd rather have more of a home-style dish, you can even substitute the noodles for the ones used in our crock pot beef & noodles.  The dish looks completely different AND you'll need to add a couple of cups more broth but it works and it's delicious as well.

Whichever sort of pasta you use it will NOT matter. This recipe is on the top of our yummy list around here.

Simple Add-Ins

Add-ins are great! You can toss in a veggie and make your angel chicken a more nutritious meal. For this recipe, we added just a cup of spinach.

But you can add all sorts of veggies to change this recipe up. And seriously, let's get real for a sec. Some kids just don't like vegetables. No matter what kind it is.

When my son was little, I used to add vegetables like the spinach in this recipe. I knew, even though he picked a lot of it out, that he was eating a little bit. Sometimes with kiddos, that's the best we can expect.

Amazingly easy, super tasty angel chicken in the crock pot! With slow cooker, skillet, pressure cooker, & freeze ahead directions!

This Deliciousness Only Takes 5 Ingredients & 5 Minutes to Toss Together...

Have you ever visited Joe's Crab Shack?  Or seen one of there commercials?  Ever heard of a "steamer dinner"?  Well, this isn't a seafood dinner...it's a smoked sausage dinner :)  It's super easy and delicious.  But it IS a steamer.  A crockpot steamer...

The key to turning your crockpot into a "steamer" is keeping it on high and only adding "X" amount of water.  What's "X"?  For me that's 1 1/2 cups.  I had about 1/3 of a cup of liquid left when it was done.  Yours may be different.  That makes it a bit difficult to "dump and go" until you know your crockpot personally.

Slow cooker's are fickle creatures sometimes.  I have two that are the same size, same age and same brand.  The only difference is one is digital and push-button and the other has a dial...they don't cook the same temperatures or the same speed.  So a "getting to know you" period is necessary.  And once you guys are buddies you can make this meal and know how much broth you'll need.

But 'til then, here's my experience.  I'd just recommend making it once when you're tooling around the house for the day before talking off and leaving it alone.

9 Easy Crockpot Ranch Recipes! Find this & more delicious recipes @ https://www.slowcookerkitchen.comNothing Says Yummy More Than Ranch!

Slow cooker cooking is all about simple around here. Yeah every once in a while I’ll do something a bit “more” but usually not so much.  Don’t get me wrong, we eat our veggies and prefer to eat healthy(ish) more than not BUT it’s not always easy. A lot of days it’s the choice of takeout or quick and easy… I’ll take quick & easy any day over fast food.  AND that being said…nothing says yummy around here more than these ranch dressing recipes.  Well, maybe bacon does too but if we’re gonna do a bit of healthy we can’t have bacon every meal. Sad isn’t it…

You Can Even Make Your Own Mix

Ranch Dressing Mix Recipe

Also, if you have the time and the desire, you can also make your own ranch dressing mix. I’ve made it before and it isn’t difficult at all. All you need to do is follow this recipe:

  • 2/3 cup buttermilk powder
  • 2 teaspoons Himalayan Pink Salt
  • ¼ cup dried Chives
  • ¼ cup dried Parsley
  • 2 tablespoons Garlic Powder
  • 2 tablespoons Onion Powder
  • 2 tablespoons Dried Onion, Minced (optional)
  • 2 teaspoons Black Pepper, Ground
  • 2 teaspoons Dill Weed
  • 4 packets True Lemon
  • 2 teaspoons dried Tarragon

Toss all that in a blender and pulse ‘til it’s completely powdery. Slow Cooker Ranch Dressing Recipes2 tablespoons of the mix equals a packet.
You can even store it in a jar for about a month before it starts to clump up.  It'll still be good to use after it starts clumping, just more difficult to work with.

Whether you decide to make up your own or buy the big canister as the store, it's an awesome investment.  Check out all these yummy recipes…

This Stuff Rocks!

I had a request a few months ago to bring artichoke dip to a friends & family get together.  We'd never had it before due to an exceptionally bad experience with artichokes like a decade ago.  Don't ask, it was somewhat traumatic and still makes me groan in pain.  But because of that, I'd never attempted making this or any other artichoke dip.  I'm SO glad I finally did though!  This hot artichoke dip recipe is delicious!

It's So Simple Too!

Just dice, toss, cover, cook and stir at.  That's pretty much it.  You might need to add a bit of milk if you want a thinner consistency...but you can do that at the end.  You'll get creamy, cheesy goodness that everyone will love :)

I served this one with diced veggies and Hawaiian bread chunks.  There were no leftovers.

The step-by-step instructions are right below.  You can also click here for the pinnable and here for the printable.

Holler if you have any questions or suggestions, we'd love to hear from you :)

Hot Artichoke Dip Recipe Step-by-Step

Gather your ingredients...

Crockpot Artichoke Dip ingredients

You'll need:

  • 1 can artichoke of hearts
  • 1 cup Parmesan, shredded
  • 1 cup Italian cheese, shredded (any kind works, this is a 3 cheese Italian blend)
  • 1 block cream cheese (low fat is okay but not non-fat)
  • 1 1/2 cups Velvetta, diced
  • 1 cup mayonaise
  • 1 cup onions, diced
  • 1 tablespoon garlic, minced
  • Milk, optional (you may need this in the last step...totally depends on how thick you want the dip)

Dice everything up...

Toss it in an oiled crockpot, cover & cook 'til cheeses are melted

Mix & stir...

You can do this by hand or use a blender.  Add a little milk at a time 'til you're happy with the consistency

Easy Peach Cobbler Recipe (Oven Version)

To make this recipe in the oven you'll need all the same ingredients and follow the directions in the same order.  Just preheat the oven to 350 degrees and bake for 45 to 60 minutes.  It's yummy either way but the crockpot version tastes sorta "softer".

It's Soup Season!

When winter comes and it's windy and cold...the soup pots go on.  There's little that warms up the soul more than a hearty bowl of comforting deliciousness.  This crockpot lasagna soup sure does hit the spot too.

Crockpot Lasagna Soup is Pretty Versatile Too!

Just like there are hundreds of kinds of lasagna, there can just as easily be that many lasagna soups too.  This one uses ground beef.  I've also used ground pork or even smoked sausage slices.

Don't have lasagna noodles on hand? No worries, just use any sort of pasta.  I personally don't like cooking spaghetti noodles in the crockpot...but a LOT of it with great results...so ANY sort of pasta...slow cooker lasagna soup

What about veggies? Yep, here too!  Not in the mood for onions? Leave them out.  Don't have any mushrooms?  Add fresh or frozen spinach instead.  I've seen all sorts of veggies added to this soup.  Here are just a few...

  • Yellow Summer Squash
  • Zucchini
  • Black Olives
  • Mushrooms (any sort)
  • Fresh Spinach
  • Celery
  • Sweet Peppers
  • Onions (any sort)

Really, the only requirement for lasagna soup with be some sort of a tomato type base.  Even that is versatile though and could be worked with...

  • Tomato Juice
  • Vegetable (aka V-8) Juice
  • Tomato Sauce
  • Tomato Paste
  • Diced Tomatoes
  • Stewed Tomatoes
  • Tomato Bouillon

Any of those would work without issue...Maybe this should be called pantry soup :)

lasagna soupIt's Doesn't Matter Cause It's Just Plain Yummy!

Whatever sorts of veggies, pastas and tomatoes you decide to toss in...you WILL get a crowd pleaser here.  Let it cook all day and come home to this delicious comfort food bubbling away in your slow cooker.  Add that pasta to the crockpot and make a side salad and roasted garlic bread while it cooks.  Super easy and super delicious :)

Here's our version for crockpot lasagna soup.  Both the printable and Pinterest friendly versions are below.  Check it out and tell us what you think.

Happy Crockin'!
